In a turn of events, the Public Services Association (PSA) represented by Industrial Relations Officer (IRO), Aaron Singh, has commended the management of the Board of Inland Revenue (BIR) on their Covid-19 preventative measures taken yesterday evening at the San-Fernando office, following a positive Covid-19 case.
It had been communicated to IRO Singh that following the positive Covid-19 case at the San-Fernando District Office, proper contact tracing and sanitization was not done. However, upon IRO Singh’s intervention on behalf of PSA members employed at the office, action by management was taken shortly after.
Members stated that they were now entirely pleased and comfortable returning to work following the sanitization measures that were done yesterday evening. IRO Singh commended the Chairman and the management for engaging in swift action in treating with the concerns voiced by the PSA. He stated that members were indeed satisfied with the action taken by management.
“We at the PSA commend this and we are grateful that management acted responsibly, in a very expeditious manner. We want to again thank management for dealing with it responsibly and suggest that in the future that you all act in a manner that is responsible, as you all have been doing but in a timely manner. We are grateful for the actions taken and we would like to commend the Board of Inland Revenue, Chairman and management team,” said IRO Singh.
