4 Positive Covid-19 Cases at NIB: Executive Director agrees to meet with Duke.

Public Services Association (PSA) President Watson Duke is expected to virtually meet with National Insurance Board (NIB) Executive Director Niala Persad-Poliah on May 10, 2021.

Duke, in a Facebook live earlier this week, gave Persad-Poliah till May 5, 2021 to meet with him, concerning four positive Covid-19 cases at NIB. In keeping with the time line given, Persad-Polliah responded to Duke yesterday via email with suggested meeting dates.

He expressed in his live that both Persad-Poliah and Finance Minister Colm Imbert had been negligent in looking after the welfare of their workers.

In the best interest of NIB workers, Duke proposed:
– Properly rostered shift for employees
– Shortened hours of work (8am – 2pm.)
– Enforced sanitization of all NIB offices.
– For staff and public alike, enforced sanitization before entering NIB’s premises.

The above mentioned and other NIB related matters are on the agenda for Monday’s meeting.
