According to the President of the Public Services Association (PSA) Watson Duke, the recent upsurges in positive Covid-19 cases and Covid-19 related deaths were directly linked to the Covid-19 vaccines. He stated that before the arrival of the vaccines, Trinidad and Tobago’s positive Covid-19 cases and Covid related deaths were relatively low, compared to the influx of positive cases since the vaccines arrived.
In a recent press conference, the Prime Minister announced that secondary school children would be allowed the option of taking the Pfizer vaccine, should the government receive a shipment of the vaccine from the United States in August.
However, Duke stated that according to his research, a 13-year-old boy, by the name of Jacob, died three days after he took the second dose of the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine. He said that the CDC was now investigating Jacob’s death.
“It says here that the Centre for Disease Control (CDC), advisory committee, on the immunization practices, found that among adolescents and young adults, who got the Pfizer and the Moderna vaccine, there appears to be an association of rare cases, of myocarditis (inflammation of the heart muscle that can affect the heart rhythm and ability to pump) and pericarditis (inflammation of the sac around the heart),”
“The FDA is saying hey, you see Pfizer vaccine and Moderna vaccine, we have to add something to the facts sheet because when you take them, chances are, your heart could start swelling, it could start beating irregular and you could die from fluid in your heart,” said Duke.
Duke stated that before any vaccine was to move from its emergency stage to be licensed, reputable organizations as the World Health Organization (WHO), and the American Food and Drug Administration (FDA), had to be satisfied with the quality of manufacturing of those vaccines.
“We have to be careful, the jury is not back yet on any of those vaccines, and all they talking, Pfizer good, that is what it did to a thirteen-year-old fella, he took it and three days after, he died!” said Duke.
